Invisble Publisher Installation: Help

J

John Hurd

I am attempting to install Publisher 2002 on my Toshiba
laptop. Although I get a 'successful installation'
message and I was able to activate the product over the
phone, the program doesn't show up anywhere on my
computer. "Add/Remove Programs' shows that its there.
I've looked in the Program folder, Start menu, etc.

I have already activated the program on my desktop also.

I have a Pentium II, Windows ME, 96 MB RAM, and enough
disk space.

I've tried reinstalling.

Any ideas?????

I have a suggestion - try adding more RAM. This won't correct your problem
but Windows ME alone really should have 128MB. (I know, MS says it will work
on 32MB. Yeah, right. Try it and find out how badly it runs.)

Erm... it runs that badly because it's Windows ME. Windows ME runs badly
even when you chuck 128+MB of RAM at it.

Amen to that! I rarely hear of anyone who has Win ME and doesn't have
issues. Normally I don't advise non-computer literate users to upgrade their
OS. (Generally it's not done right.) But if someone has ME, I'm more likely
to suggest it than not.

Upgrading to Windows XP will require more RAM and I believe
that it requires a Pentium III. Time to invest...

Ah, older system. Like I said, more RAM. But if the system can't/won't
support it, start tucking away the pennies.
