Not enough disk space?

Windows Vista 64-bit. 8GB RAM. 750 GB drive with 428 GB available.

When I attempt to paste a Photoshop CS4 image into a blank publisher
document, I receive the following:

"Publisher cannot launch or communicate with the OLE server program needed
to complete this task.
There may not be enough disk space, or there may be a problem with the
server program. To make more space available, delete some unneeded files on
your hard disk. If you suspect a problem with the server program, try
reinstalling it. Then try this again."

This message must be a left over from the 2GB hard drive days.

How does one reinstall the OLE Server program?

Just some thoughts...what format is the CS4 image?
Maybe it's incompatible with Publisher like .cr2 or
..dng. Try compatible formats...jpg, .png or .tif.

And...if the image is in a compatible format...have
you tried...Insert / Picture / From File?

John, Thanks for the insight. What I did was to resize the .jpg file from a
width of 3,888 by 2592 pixels to 3,000 by 1950. Worked OK. Later, I will be
printing a 54 by 36 inch glossy...

You did not mention your Publisher version.

FWIW...I just resized and imported a .jpg into
my copy of Publisher 2007 that is 8326x6244...
no problem.

Maybe your issue was file size and not pixel
dimensions.

For the size print you are planning...you need
the highest pixel count possible.

FWIW...I just resized and imported a .jpg into
my copy of Publisher 2007 that is 8326x6244...
no problem.

Maybe your issue was file size and not pixel
dimensions.

For the size print you are planning...you need

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to see some of the other things being
done by Sun City Anthem Computer Club. Seems to be a really progressive
group of people. And you are right, newsletter is eye-catching!

Thanks for all the comments regarding the newsletter. I have enjoyed an
unbroken record of publishing from March 2001, but I missed the February
2009 issue due to two computer failures in a one month period of time. I
wouldn't have been shut out except that you cannot restore to a Windows
Vista Home Premium computer what was backed up from a Windows Vista Ultimate
computer. I would have been back in business faster to have done an
immediate update to the Ultimate version and then tried to restore the
backup from the USB external.

Yes, we believe that our Club is progressive. Last year, our House Call
technicians took in over $14,000 in donations from the beneficiaries of our
work on their computer at $20 per call.... This year we are setting up a
couple of computers for the use of the sight-impaired members. These will
have 24" monitors and have the ZoomText Magnifier/Reader system installed.
Living an a retirement community has its challenges. I have enjoyed every
minute of it. Thanks for reading...
