I *never* dictate. I simply suggested you base your decisions upon
realities, not false conceptions (well actually I said incorrect
supposition).

I don't remember the original part of the thread, but I think it was about
my comment concerning using user agent strings to determine the number of
site visitors coming from Opera browsers. If I install Opera and hit my
site, I do see a hit from Opera. Imagine that. The only way to NOT see it
as Opera is to spook the user agent string. Once you do that, any
statistics at all are out the window.

The entire issue here deals with inline frames and pages that are inside of
those iframes and coming from a third-party domain. The script launched
from those iframes does not work correctly in Opera. I know that, and quite
frankly, I don't care. I covered that earlier in detail.

The thing that I find so interesting is that my site is such a source of
interest to all of these folks who have absolutely no interest in FrontPage.
You see, their purpose is to pump themselves up by trying to tear other
people down. That works with immature and insecure people such as
themselves. It doesn't work with me. Even so, it has certainly been an
interesting study in the immature nature of the alt.* groups. It's been
years since I've wandered into that realm, and I see that things haven't
changed.

All of the above comments are not directed at you, Matt. I'm merely making
an observation, and a sad one at that. People have become more and more
rude and more and more self-absorbed, and we're all worse off for it.

Excuse me? Who's the one telling anyone using a browser not covered by
your army of sniffers that you don't care if they can't see your content?

Words in a newsgroup aren't the only way to be rude and self-absorbed.

It's been a while since I've chatted full-on with the WYSIWYG crowd and I
see *they* haven't changed either. Still as self-righteous as ever.

Pump themselves up by tearing others down?
We're they tearing you down, or the site?
If it's the site, then you're personalizing it ;)

My boss Allis is a, on again, off again, reg in here.
Here, they all tell her her site(s) are purly turrible.
There's a regular in aww called Duende that calls her site(s) absolutely

She put his picture on the wall here.

Ok. But please make sure you clean the goo up when finished.

I found that too. It made me feel a lot better. When I thought it was
"real" it made me very depressed. kind of like gawking at some carnival
freak show, then feeling bad that you did. :)

Personally, I think that the demeanor of these folks from the alt.* crowd
who have appeared here

In the context of Usenet, where is 'here' exactly?
is clear evidence why more people don't use
newsgroups. They believe they have to tread on thin ice lest they do
something to break one of the "rules" and unleash an attack on them.

"When in Rome ..." as they say.

Common courtesy costs nothing more than a little time spent on research.

You guys send me a check each month for my hosting fees and another one
for my mailing list provider fees and another for the software that I
purchase to maintain the site and the software I write and another
one for the time that I spend developing software and writing code for my
Web site and then you can dictate to me how I should design my site and
for whom I should design it.

Thanks, but no thanks, I'll get a professional in, if it's all the same to
you.

Don't assume that everyone with a Web site is a Web designer by trade.

Ugh - that sounds like a weak argument for not delivering a usable,
accessible web site.

Sounds like yo're the one who's trolling for an argument.
Correctomundo. I love teasing the trolls. Just don't throw your poop at me.

<phttt>yo're</phttt>.
I know how much you alt-tards love details in an argument. Now please learn
to spell.

PS - Love your websites. Obviously not from a template - That amount of
inadequacy could only be achieved by meticulous attention and intervention
by an alt.webmaster.
