Is there a Data Dictionary for all MS Project fields?

M

Mike

I'm looking for a document that could serve as a dictionary for all the
fields that MS Project provides (standard fields, not the customized ones).

Thanks.

Hello Mike,

To the best of my knowledge, I don't believe there is one
centralized location. The best I can recommend is to read help. If
you hover your mouse over the column (field) heading, you should get
a hyperlink to jump directly to the help topic for that specific
field.

As an aside, I'd be careful about sending your email in clear
text -- you may be discovered by the spam bots.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

More information is available in a Visio file, located inside RDBSchema.zip.
This file is in the C:\2007 Office System Developer Resources\Project 2007
SDK\Schemas\Reporting and Cube directory, assuming you use the default
installation locations.

Also in Help, search for article "Field Reference" and you'll see links
to everything.

Nice! Escpecially the Available Fields section which provides a summary. I
hadn't reed this before.

Hello Mike,

Just follow these steps:
1.- Press "F1" key.
2.- On the "Project Help" window, on the "Search" field, type "fields" and
click the Search button.
3.- On the first result of the list, look for the "breadcrumb" underneath
the result name and click on "Fields Reference".
4.- On the "Topics" list, click on "Available Fields".

There you have it, sorted by Task, Resource or Asignment fields.

Hope this helps!
