Is there a "paint" program in Office 2003 Pro as in the 97?

The paint program in Office Pro 97 was/is capable of making backgrounds, in
any picture format, transparent. It's the only program to do it so simply. I
can't seem to find it in Office 2003.

MS Paint is installed as part of the operating system. Should show up in
Start, Programs, Accessories.

And if it is not there as Bob mentioned then go to Control Panel\ Add\Remove\Add Windows Components

Bob I, that is not the paint program I was tallking about. MS Paint does not
make backgrounds transparent. Office Pro 97 was more of an "editing" program.
I figured with an "impoved" Office 2003 Pro, a better program would be
installed with it as it was with Pro 97.

You might be thinking of Photo Editor, not Paint. If you still
have your Office 97 CD, you can custom-install Photo Editor from
that into Office 2003.

Hi Jonah,

MS Office Photo Editor was discontinued after Office XP.
You can still install it from an older version of MS Office
using a custom install and in a 'use as is' state.

If you're inserting graphics into other Office apps, such
as Word the Picture toolbar contains a transparency tool you
can drag across a background to change it to transparent for
that graphic while it's in a document.

Sorry, no such animal. The "Picture manager" is what is being offered to
fit in I presume to allow the easier sharing of ones pictures via Outlook.

garfield-n-odie....thanks!
The first time I tried to custom install the Photo Editor, it didn't work,
so I guess I'll try it again. Guess I gave up on the first try. Perhaps you
could give a couple of pointers as to how it's done correctly. Thanks again.

Bob Buckland, thanks for the info about the transparency tool in Word. I'll
check it out, perhaps it works as well as the Photo Editor. Of course if it
does not, I'll try to custom install it from my old Office Pro 97 CD.
