Hi Shanni
You will need first to determine whether the gross wage is in accordance
with his contract of employment. The terms of that contract will be
important. You may also need access to records of hours worked, if this is
variable.
You will also need to determine whether any adjustments for (eg) expenses,
subscriptions, union dues etc are correct, for which you will need to go
back to a combination of the contract of employment, expense claim sheets,
professional subscription invoices, union correspondence etc.
Excel as a tool for all of the above is of limited value. I would not say
that it is useless, but no-one in this forum will be able to provide much
help without all of the above background stuff.
Finally you will want to check the statutory deductions for (eg) taxation.
This will vary according to the state or jurisdiction in which your husband
works, and there may well be Excel templates around to do those
calculations, but you will have to say what country.
