No I'm not trying to hide my own address it was more to make group
emailings
seem more personal. With Eudora (I know...old software) you were able to
use
a nickname and therefore all the recipients wouldn't see who was being
emailed and you could still use a 'nick name' to make it more 'personal'
in
the To: field.
I just wanted to be sure that you could not, with Outlook, be able to do
what was done in Eudora. Basically have more confidence in my answer to
the
people asking me the question.
Thanks for your help!

Not here. There is nothing to "expand." I don't understand why would you
care. Certainly you are not trying to hide your own address, right?

Thanks Russ but I've tried that and the name still expands to show the
email
address not just the 'nick name'.

Create a Contact that has your own email address. Change the Email
Display
As field to the name you want to appear in the To: field.

I know you can put a name in the cc'ed area to stop the 'to' from
populating...however if you want a 'dumby' name to show up in that
field...how do you make that happen??
