ISAM Delete data from Excel file

I have a temp Excel file linked to an Access db. The Excel file will be on
either a home or network drive. I have a macro that works fine to move the
data from the Excel file and insert it in a SQL table, but I can't figure out
how to delete the data from the linked Excel file. The error message is
'Deleting data in a linked table is not supported by this ISAM.' (when I
press help this is the information displayed: A driver you can specify that
allows access to external database formats such as dBASE, Microsoft® Excel,
and Paradox. ISAM is an acronym for Indexed Sequential Access Method. The
Microsoft Jet database engine installs (loads) these ISAM drivers when
referenced by your application. The location of these drivers is maintained
in the Microsoft Windows® Registry.). Does anyone know how I can do this or
have another solution? Thanking you in advance, Jani

The ability to edit an Excel file was removed from Access at one time so it
depends on which version you have. You could do it with automation if all
else fails.

Thanks again Bonnie. But that is way beyond me. All I was hoping to do was
remove a row in Excel from Access. Didn't know it was going to be so
complicated!
