Issues after upgrade to Office XP Pro

After upgrading, my previously created documents (office 2000 format) only
open by first opening Word or Excel and then selecting FILE - OPEN - Browse
for documents. I cannot double click the document or even open them through
RUN. Does anyone know what happened here?

It could be the file associations are damaged. To recreate them go to
Start/Run and run the following commands:

winword /
excel /regserver

Note the space before the forward slash.
