Issues when using a VMware server

Has anyone set up Microsoft Project Server 2002 on a VMware server? We have
this set up (with the SQL database on a separate server) and have run into a
handful of issues: e-mail notifications not being sent out, projects updated
in Project Professional 2002 and published are not reflected in PWA, resource
managers unable to modify Portfolio Analyzer (but works for Admin-level user).

Is VMware not a good candidate for Project Server ?

Mike:

Microsoft has purchased the Connectix product, Virtual PC, which is similar
to VMWare and Microsoft creates its demo images this way. I've run Project
Server under VMWare without a problem. The issues you're seeing may be
related to your virtual networking on the virtual servers and or permissions
issues.

It's good to hear that even you have used VMware for this application. I
will start going through the permissions and get the IT folks to check the
setup on their end.
