Somehow I lost the toolbar for Outlook. All the help menus refer me to some
function along the toolbar which I can't do. HELP

I don't know which version of Outlook you're using, click on the View menu
button and scroll to Toolbars. Do you see any menu buttons at all?

It's 2003. There's no "view" to hit. There's nothing across the top, its
all gone. THat's my problem. All the help menu hints refer to using
something that I don't have right now.

Stop Outlook and open WIndows Explorer. Enter
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook in the Address field and click Go. Locate the
file outcmd.dat and either delete or rename it. Restart Outlook.

Hi Brian, I read you response to Chris and though ti might fix my lost top
line of the Outlook toolbar. I typed in the 96 App Data 96\Microsoft\Outlook
but it didn't find anything at all. Did I type it incorrectly?

Not "96", but the percent sign (above the 5 on English keyboards). Also no
spaces between "AppData" and the percents or within "AppData" itself.

Brian, Thank you so much for this post. I had the same problems as the
others, and this fixed it.

I'm guessing that what you mean with your question is that you are usin
Outlook and somehow or another, you no longer see a toolbar with button
at the top.

You might try this, right click in the menu/toolbar area. I'd expec
that a context menu will pop up listing a number of possible toolbars
Click on the one that you want (probably Standard or Advanced)
