Keeping graphics/pictures with Word document

hello,

some people email me word documents that show up placeholders instead of the
graphics. i can't figure out what they are doing wrong. when i send
documents with pictures, the person receiving the document also has the
documents.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

The people sending the documents may only have inserted the pictures a
links, instead of embedding them in the document.

The user has the option to display pictures or their placeholders in tools >
options > view.

Ask them to insert the graphics through the "Insert Picture" menu ite
instead of "Insert Object." That way the picture will be embedded an
follow the document. When you insert it as an object it is often jus
linked -- when that happens, the link to the file is lost when the
send the document out
