Keeping some resource local

What are the implications in keeping some resources local when importaing
projects to server. We have some resources that we do not need to include in
our resource leveling or time management per se and Iam wondering if there is
any reason why we should not keep those select resources local rather then
adding them to our ERP.

You can local resources if these particular team members will not use PWA at
all. They might include people like contractors, for example. The one
thing you need to know about using local resources in Project Server
enterprise projects is that you MUST perform the following steps in each
project you import into Project Server and which contains local resources:

1. Open the project
2. Apply the Resource Sheet view
3. Double-click the name of a local resource
4. Set the Workgroup value to None
5. Click OK
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for EVERY local resource
7. Save and close the project

Performing the above steps will eliminate the dreaded "Manager cannot create
resource..." spooler error that so many people see when they use local
resources in enterprise projects. Hope this helps.
