Key code

I don't have the jewel case for Office 2K anymore (cannot find) and after
upgrading from ME to XP Home I had to delete the Office etc as I kept getting
an error : windows installer patch package is missing. I went to reinstall
the Office 2K and it is now asking for the "Key". What can I do now?

Unfortunately, Alan, that won't be any good for Office 2000, as MS ceased
supporting it last June (see http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifeprodo)

So Office 2000 users need to make a backup copy somewhere SAFE of their
product key... ;-)

Precisely, Gordon. That's why I have all mine (for every item of software
requiring a key) in a text file - a hard copy of which I store in the
zippered case with my CDs in. Unfortunately, today I realise that my one
concession to organisation had failed. I needed to repair Office and the
main disc wasn't in its designated pouch. Fortunately, MS are sending me a
replacement, but it does make life a little awkward for a few days/weeks (I
use Word, Outlook and Publisher daily).
