double quotes and use shift+' I get @ and when shift+2 I
get ". What's going on there? Anyone know?

Sounds like you have a European or UK keyboard enabled. Check the Regional
Options in Windows Control Panel.

Hi Eddie

You have keyboard layouts installed for more than one language, and
you've pressed the key combination (by default, Left Alt+Shift) to
switch to the other layout. Press Left Alt+Shift again to go back to
your normal layout.

To remove the unwanted layout, open Control Panel > Regional and
Language Options. Click the Languages tab, and then the Details
button. Click the unwanted layout and click the Remove button, then
OK.
