Landscape Duplex printing problem

Hi
Using a Canon ip4200

I have a 2 sided A4 landscape flyer that will be folded to A5
When I print duplex, the orientation of the back is all wrong
Even when I print the front, then turn it over to print the back, no
matter which way I turn the paper it is still wrong?

This problem doesn't happen when printing portrait duplex

Is this usual with duplex capable printers or is it just canon

The only way I can fix this is to swop the text/graphics on the back
from one side of the page to the other and turn them upside down using
Publisher

Anyone know of another fix please?

Anything that is on the left on the front will be on the right on the back.

You would be better served setting up your page as a booklet. Publisher will
duplex your creation correctly.

Hi Mary
How would I convert an existing 2 page document to a booklet?
I'm using 2007 and still learning

You posted the flyer would be folded in half. I just assumed it would appear to
be a booklet.
What version Publisher are you using?

All you need to do is go to File, page setup, advanced on the right, change the
layout type to booklet. You will need to adjust...

That didn't resolve my duplex printing problem Mary?

Martin,
When you duplex a two page publication, you have to be aware of how your page is
setup. The best way is to select all on the landscaped page, group, center align
on the page. Do this for both sides. You can be assured that the publication is
back to back correctly. As I said in the earlier post, what is on the left on
the front will be on the right when you turn the page over or duplex.

If you have information that reads like a booklet then setup your page as a
booklet.

Mary, I have tried this every which way,
The only way I can print A4 landscape duplex is to select all, group,
swop the text/graphics on the back(second page) from one side of the
page to the other and turn them upside down
I seem unable to defeat the characteristics of my printer
(canon ip4200) in landscape view, whereas in portrait view it prints
duplex fine.

Mind you, this hasn't been a total loss, as I have learned a lot more
about publisher in my travels
Thank you for your time & patience

Can you not rotate the portrait objects 90 degrees after you group them
together? Some how your printer is flipping your page. My printer has a
check-off that you can turn off.

Good news Martin. How much paper did you waste? Thanks for the update, I
appreciate it. I have saved your solution, when I get some time I will put it on
the web page.
