Leveling impact on Summary Tasks and links.

It seems like when I level resources, that the following happens

1. That my summary tasks finish dates no longer match the finish date of the longest sub-task

2. That the Predecessors links I have in place before leveling are not changed with the finish date change that happens because of the leveling. (ie. Task1 is a Predecessor of task2. TASK2 start is after TASK1 Finish, After leveling, TASK1 finish is changed because of leveling, but my TASK2 start is not changed to show the impact

Can someone tell me if this is normal or how fix or work around this problem

Many thanks

Brad

Brad,

We are experiencing the exact same behavior. We have
even tried deleting the task(s) and re-entering them but
the same behavior returns. We are awaiting the
opportunity to get feedback from Microsoft.

Hi Brad,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

It sounds to me that you have introduced some constraints to prevent the
tasks from moving. Try unlevelling first, then remove all Constraints simply
by selecting All tasks and then Project/Task Information/Advanced tab and
set Constraints to As Soon As Possible. Then relevel.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))
