Limits of Project 2007

E

Ed3

I am a project manager for a large commercial sign company and I am
researching Project as a way to track our production. Each order is like a
project unto itself, but we also share resources, production, installation,
etc. We currently have over 120 projects underway at some stage or another.
I want to know what would be the (project total) limits and how would we go
about integrating Project into our environment?

Mike,

This list doesn't show how many projects server can handle. It is far above
the 120 noted in the last post.
One thing is that performance is dependent on hardware (memory, server,
network ...)

Hi Jack,

True, but he didn't mention servers as such.

Ed : If you plan to use Project Server, then try posting on the server
newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs, companion
products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web

Hi,

This can indeed work well without Server.
The PRACTICAL limit is that opening such a resource pool with 120 projects
attached may take something like 5-10 minutes and hence is best to be doen
only once a day.
