Linked Tasks

I have tasks that are not linked to other tasks which when I move causes
other tasks to move. I tried moving a task a day at a time which initially
diddn't change other tasks then suddenly when I reached a certain date other
tasks move along with it. The only link is that the use the same reource. Any
suggestions what may be causing this?

Hi flyhing,

From your description it sounds as though Automatic Leveling is on. When
you move a task with the same resource assigned, Project is automatically
leveling (adding delay to one of the tasks) to resolve the overallocation.

Check Tools > Level Resources and set the leveling calculation to manual.
