Linking a OneNote document within an Excel spreadsheet

P

Paul Moore

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to dynamically create a link to a new
OneNote document from within Excel. I was hoping to write a macro to
automatically:
- open the other application (OneNote), fill in the document, and then close
the document
- create a link in a specific cell such that double-clicking on that cell
re-opens the document

Can this be done? I suppose macros are the order of the day.

Many thanks,
Paul

Use Excel's Insert HyperLink on the Insert Menu.
Or just press control + k

that will allow linking to the .one files.

make sure you "rename the link" via the window at the top.

Now when you click on the LINK in Excel the .one file opens.

There are no macros in OneNote.

In OneNote 2007, you will be able to link to exact spots in .one files.
