Linking Check boxes to template items - Word 2003

I am working on a template for my organization, and have a need to create new
text when a check box has been checked. For Example, When I check a check
box, I would like "hello" to appear automatically at a predetermined place.

So far I have played with the fields and switches, but I have not been able
to figure this one out. Any suggestions? Thanks.
