Linking Document Properties to Values in TextBox.

OK, I'm working with documents generated in Word, Excel, AutoCad, etc., and I
trying to link the document properties to values in textboxes, combo boxes,
etc., so I can extract the metadata from the document and use it to
categorize the documents for storage purpose. Can that be done, and if it
can, how. I need some detailed help in getting this done. Thanks for any
help.
