Could you please help me to solve the following issue:
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium & Microsoft Office 2003.
Some time ago (I guess after downloading and installing some update via
Windows Update feature - it happened automatically) links in Excel files (as
well as in Word and Outlook) stopped working. The following message appears
after clicking the link in Excel:
This operation has been canceled due to restrictions on this computer.
Please contact your system administrator.
I tried to find the solution in the Internet. I found 2 solutions:
[1] Resetting IE settings.
----------------------------------------
To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:
1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. On the Programs tab, click Reset Web Settings.
4. Click to clear the Also reset my home page check box.
5. Click Yes.
6. Restart the computer.
[2] Using a registry key
HKEY_Local_MachineSoftwareClasseshtmlfileshellopencommand exported from
another PC.
Neither of these solutions seem to work for the combination Vista/MS Office
2003.
The described issue significantly slows down my everyday work and I would be
grateful if you could please let me know how to solve it.
Thank you very much in advance
