List of available messages does not update

Unless I select a new folder in the left hand pane, the
list of messages will not update if I receive new mail in
my inbox. I'm running Outlook 2002. Anyone have any
ideas?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, JCS asked:
