location of footnote in a two columns text

How can I change the location of footnote in a two columns text from left
column to right column or vice versa?

Does it not appear at the bottom of the column in which it is referenced? If
not, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/FootnoteOnDiffPage.htm, which
might apply to columns as well as pages.
