locked document

I have a Word document that I passworded and now I cannot remember the password. Is there any way for me to at least read the document so I can copy and paste into a new one?

Hi, treymedic. You could have created a password to open or a password to modify. If you created the latter, then you should be able to open the document and copy the contents to another document. If you created the former, then you've got a problem because Word encrypts the file and makes it unreadable without the password to decrypt the file. You can try a password-cracking program, but be prepared to let run on your computer for possibly many hours or days while it attempts to guess the password.
