Log In Page

OK I guess that I keep asking the wrong question. I would like someone to
show me the code for writing a log in pasge. All I want is to have one field
that if you put in the right word it will take you to a new page. If you
don't put in the right word then it loops you back to that login in page.
Also on a second thought, but not as critical, is there something that can be
put on the second page that will not let you put a short cut to it on your
desk top. Hopefully I have explained this the way I want it to work.

Yes I have and I have tried all of them. They just don't work the way
I'm thinking or I just don't know enough. I appologize. The codes that you
have suggested, I put one code on the page that is to be protected and it
brings up the page and behind some of my pictures is the button to hit to
bring up the password box. Not what I'm looking for. Again I have a
login.asp page. Simple little page that has a password field and a login
button. How do I program that login button to check the word that you type
in the field?

He has, but apparently has decided they're not what he wants.
He needs to Google and see if he can come up with what he's looking for.

What type of web server is your site hosted on and what server-side script is supported?

Please don't lasugh to hard, but my web site is just a bunch of files
on my inetpub\wwwroot. I use Dynu to register my domain name and they
redirect everyone to my server. That said, again plese forgive my ignorance
I'm not a web site developer. If you goto www.commercialmutual.com and on
the let side hit the Producers Page button and look at the page. This the
one that if you don't have the right word then I want it to loop back on
itself. If you do have the right word then let it go to the next page.

If this is your site, then you have to rename your pages to have .asp extension in order for them to
work. Also once you have it working, you will not be able to protect any documents / images / or
..htm(l) page unless you have permissions set on a folder, which then requires both a user id and
password to access.
