Logo & Page Sizes clarification Needed ASAP for corporate project.

Hi I just created a logo in Publisher today for future use in all files going
forward.
i saved it as a jpeg in order to be able to drop it in wherever I need to
use it. When i created this logo I used a 8x11 blank page. It's deminsions
{logo} currently are 3300x2550 which was the best available.
My question is, I was wanting to place this logo inside a press release
document on a potriat size 8x14 page. I simply clicked insert photo and put
it in. But when it is put into the document, i think the fact that it was
created on an 8x11 page it makes the logo too big. And when I try scaling the
logo accross the top of the page so that it looks like a header, it takes up
a big chunk of the page. But when I try to make it smaller, it gets so
squished that it distorts itself. what is the best size to resize the logo I
created to so that it will work in emailable documents or on a website,
catalogue etc.
2nd Question: And secondly, when I create the logo what type page should I
set up the logo on? because I've noticed this{background page} always shows
up when you try to place the logo in a publication. It's like I need to cut
the logo out of that page so it's just a logo by itself and not part of a
bigger page.
Please help!
thanks

you need to save ONLY the logo object(s) as a jpg not the entire page.
and any time you resize it you should be holding Shift key and grabbin a
corner handle to keep the aspect ratio the same.
