Not sure if it is just me, but I am seeing TONS of new newsgroup
postings with subject lines only in the public MS groups. Something is
fishy.

It's the way Microsoft is guiding users.

To use the help mechanism, they are told to use a short, one-line question
to get the best most accurate results. They then think that these
guidelines also apply to posting the question as a newgroup post.
