Lost 1 install

Geodane

I installed this Office Enterprise 2007 on my desktop, then crashed the
computer and used System Restore to get the machine running again. Installed
on the desktop again and all is good. I then installed it on #1 laptop no
problem works great. Now the problem, I can not install it on my #2 laptop? I
know that the software allows for three installs, so my first install
although lost must still be counted. Is there any way I can get that install
back? I really need to have it on the other laptop as well.

Hi Geodane,

There isn't any installation counter. The only 'check' is when you activate the product either online or by phone. Depending on
the license type - Home Use license is a single machine, a retail license would be one desktop plus one portable device. MS Office
Home & Student edition has a 3 machine license for non-commerical use.

the one I have is the Student and Faculty. The Activate is what fails on the
#2 laptop. What I would like to know is how I can get the Third machine
install back.

Thanks

Just install it and try to activate it. You may have to fall back on
'phone activation but MSFT aren't unreasonable.

Hi Geodane,

The MS student and faculty licensing is generally covered by the campus MS Select agreement, and prices vary from zero to usually
very little. The license allowed per copy can be set by the license holder and is often a single PC license per copy. You may want
to check with the administrator for the school for the specific terms.
