Lost CD case for Office 2008

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Hi ,

Im asking this question on behalf of my partner. He had his laptop stolen 2mnths ago. He has now bought i nice new one but is having trouble finding the office cd case. We have the cd but of course we don't have the product key -as we cant find the box! We have moved house since we last bought everything and we are driving our selves mad- as the box is no where to be found!

Any ideas on what can be done?? - He only ever used the cd once but that was on the old laptop that was stolen. Like I said we have the cd and we know it can at least be used one more time. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I thought i would also try the mac shop as thats were we bought office and the 1st laptop from over the phone (we are hoping they will have a record of our order!).

Sorry, but gotta say that it says on the cd case "Do not lose this".
The vendor may be nice and give you another; but I doubt it since they
probably have no way to recoup their expense by giving away another item.

Unless you find the CD, you'll likely just have to buy another.

The Product Key is not on the *box*, it's on the sleeve the disk is in, both
of which are shipped inside the box. If you have the sleeve the key is on an
orange sticker affixed to it... There is nothing on the box itself that need
be used for installation.

If you don't have the sleeve but can establish proof of purchase, contact MS
Customer Service. They can probably provide you with a new product key [for
which there may be a nominal charge]:

"To obtain a new product key for your Office program in the United States,
call 1-800-936-5700 and speak to a Microsoft customer service
representative. Outside of the United States, call the number that appears
in the activation wizard."
