I updated (downloaded critical and recommended patches) for outlook 2002 and officeXP as recommended by microsoft website.All my contact list data and distribution list emails are gone now and the outlook has none of that left in it
Can anyone tell me how to retreive that contacts.

All of your data is located in a file with a .PST extension. Search your
drive for all .PST files. If you're using Windows 2000 or XP, you'll need
to search in hidden and system folders to find them.
