I was editing an web page with word -XP, I inserted a new photo in the document, using insert picture from a file, I then saved it and copied it to my ftp, however when the page is displayed the photo is missing. I made sure to copy the photo to a joint location on the FTP server.

My first guess is that the link to the photo as generated by Word points to
the photo's location on your hard drive.

Open the html file with Notepad, find the link to the photo, and manually
edit it to point to the photo's location on your web server.

Your photo has to remain in the same directory it was in when yo
inserted it -- in other words, you can't just put it in the sam
directory with your web page, it has to be in a folder with the sam
name it was in originally.

To keep things straight, I always make a "graphics" folder inside m
web folder. All pics stay in there. When I'm ready to ftp, I put u
the ENTIRE web folder -- that way all of the paths remain the same an
links don't get lost
