Hi, Im getting an error message I've never seen before. Whenever I try to
change the Office Assistant I keep on getting a Low Memory Error, only when I
try changing the Office Assistant. Here is what I dont get if I run Windows
Vista I get that error in Outlook only, but if I run WinXP Pro the error
doesnt show up. Can anyone help me on this issue?

Thanks......

Low memory or low virtual memory? If it's low virtual memory it could be your
page file size. Please clarify, thanks!

Hi.

Thanks for your reply, I've reinstalled Windows Vista & Office 2003 and
using Outlook 2003 but I still get that same error I've checked the processes
& ran process montior. Anything else that can cause this error message?

Thanks......

Have you checked your PST for errors? Do a search for ScanPST.exe and open
it, then follow the directions to find your PST file and scan it. You may
have to do this several times.
However that shouldn't cause a memory issue. I'm surprised that the process
monitor didn't show what was using up your memory, or even the task manager.

Nothing at all showed up in the task manager or process monitor to indicate
what was using memory?

Do you have Norton antivirus scanning incoming/outgoing mail? How often do
you poll for mail?

I've just done a clean install of Vista Home Premium, and the only app I've
installed so far is Works 2006. I see the same error when trying to view the
Office Assistant gallery - 'There is not enough memory available to complete
this operation'.
I am sure there IS enough memory so this is a bogus message. CPU usage is
4%, Physical Memory 39%; I have 2Gb of RAM.
Earlier I was advised that the Office Assistant required Agent 2.0 in order
to run, and I have downloaded and installed this.

Are you actually checking the processes that are running using the Task
Manager, Processes Tab ? Are you sorting them by Memory Usage to see what's
highest?

Processes:
MS Paint 37,236
Iexplore.exe 25,332
dwm.exe 17,296
sidebar.exe 15,280
explorer.exe 8,592
winword.exe 5,624

Performance tab:
Physical memory(Mb)
Total 2046
Cached 1665
Free 1

Yet I can start new applications
