Macro has been disabled because of your security setting...

Hello,

I wrote a macro in Word 2000 template and add it to the menu bar for users.
It works find if I set the security setting to "Low". But I don't want to
set the Security to "Low", then I got message "Macro cannot be found or Macro
has been disabled because of your security setting" when run the macro. Is
there a way to get rid of this message or enable the macro in code? Please
help.

Thanks in advance!!

Sorry, you've landed in a MacWord group. You might get an answer from
the people here who use both Windows and Mac, but you should try asking
your question on the general Word newsgroups. Start here:http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/FlyoutOverview.mspx

Hello,
Macros can contain viruses, so in order to *protect* you from damage
caused by infected macro, you can set different level of security
(it's decribed in Word Help - just put the word *macro* as entry)
which defines what WORD will do with macros included in the file.

Either you can choose - low - which will run all macros - no asking,
but then you must be aware of virus. Or you can pick high then to
protect you just subscribed macros will run, then you will obtain the
dialog box saying that non subribed macro will not run. There is no
other option I would know about, so the workaround could be to set it
to high and subscribe your macros.

Personally I have set low (I hate clicking on that dialog box) and I'm
fine. More do not run antivirus program permanently. The only time I
get virus was when I reinstall Windows and before install SP - which I
cleverly installed via network without FW some worm come to visit me.
But that was my mistake - not realising how many holes are in Windows-
not installing SP prior to connecting to net. That was the only
occurancy in more than 4 years. It is usually enough safe when you
just think before clicking on anything... No antivirus SW can protect
you against hoaxes, phishing...
