we just recently switched from group wise to microsoft outlook - is there a
way I can see when a recepient opened my message without requesting a reply
(in group wise there was a button marked "properties" for this

You can set a "read receipt" on the mail but if the person receiving your
mail has receipts disabled or set to prompt, you may not get a response. I,
personally, never send receipts to co-workers.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.
