Make text stay in place

I have been trying to figure out how to make text stay in
a certain spot of the page no matter what is done above
or below it. For example, if I want the word "middle" to
be stuck right smack dab in the middle of the page
(vertically, not horizontally), how do I do that? You
cant simply press Enter a handful of times because once
you delete one of the hard returns it moves the word up
the page.

You could put it in a text box fixed at that position.

Put it in a text box. Set the textbox position to be relative to page.
