lbierer

Hello,

I am using Visio 2003 and need to send a buch of floor plans to other people
who do not have Visio. Is there a way to change it to a PDF File? Please help.

Hello Iberier,

Your choices are:

a) Get Adobe Acrobat and convert (or print via Distiller)

b) Use a thrird party pdf tool such as cutePDF (I'm not familiar with this
but I think I've heard good things about it).

c) Upgrade to Visio 2007 and get PDF (and XPS) export functionality for
free.

My feeling is the third option is best as you having to spend money for each
(although I think there may be a free version of cutePDF), but with the
third you get the upgraded version of Visio into the bargain.

Hope that helps.

Best regards

John

I know you mentioned saving in the PDF format, is there a special reason you
need this format? If you leave files in the Visio format you can have the
users download the Visio Viewer (free). This will allow them to view the
files but not make any changes to them.

Why don't Microsoft create a *proper* Visio viewer? The whole idea of
a viewer like this is so you can view the files on other platforms.
Look at Adobe Reader, available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris ...

That’s a good question; the viewer is intended to be used by people that do
not have the Visio application. It is an add-on running in Internet
Explorer, the viewer is available for free. Since I am not familiar with
these other operating systems do they have the ability to run Internet
Explorer? You can always make this suggestion to the programmers.

Gasp! I suspect not.
I'm not sure whether you know how funny that concept is.
