I've been using Outlook as my email client for several
years, and had several custom folders under my inbox. (The
email account was through pop/smtp servers provided by my
ISP.) Rules would route my incoming email into the
appropriate folders, important dates were stored in the
Calendar, notes in Notes and everything I know about
anyone was stored in the contacts folder.
I had taken this system through several upgrades over the
years, from Windows 98 all the way to Windows XP, and
along the way my system accumulated three hard drives; the
first was devided into two partitions, C and D. The second
Had E and F, and the third was G. Because of the way they
were added to the system the partitions weren't
contiguous, my \Windows directory was in E: although the
system boot was on C:, and as might have been predicted I
finally had a problem, and XP Professional wouldn't boot.
Something happened to the boot partition, so I was forced
to rearrange the hard drives and was not able to repair my
original installation, but since no data had been erased I
assumed I would be able to recover everything. That was
mostly true, but although I have located a small number of
the original messages contained in .pst files, my Outlook
folder structure is nowhere to be found. All of my
calendar entries are gone, as are the Contact information.
I have performed searches that cover the entire system but
have not discovered any additional .pst files. Have also
searched for several other file extensions that the help
file related to these folders, but to no avail.
Any help in helping me to locate and extract this
information would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jerry
