A question for those who have used Word to prepare documents for publishers:

I'm writing a text book that will have phrases and some charts in the
margins. Is there a preferred way to do that in Word, or is it dependent on
the specific publisher's requirements?

Thanks

It is always best to consult the publisher. While one can do many
things with Word, many publishers want the document in straight text,
others want Word, some want footnotes embedded, some want separate FN
sections or even documents. Make it easy on yourself from the outset
and get with the publisher.
