Not exactly an Office question, but I've no idea of where else to post this.

I've installed various "critical updates" lately. Now, no matter WHAT I tell
my system, all my folders - including MY DOCUMENTS and PROGRAMS and my Office
files included - ***ONLY*** seem to open sorted by Date Modified. I can
maually change them - but when I close the window then return to it later,
its sorted by Date Modified again.

I've gone to View/Folder Options/View and made changes there - being sure
the active folder was sorted alphabetically and then choosing "Like Current
Folder" in Folder Views, changing the setting for "Remember each folder's
view settings", and various combinations of the two.

Am I missing something here - or have the boys at NanoSquishy done something
to their systems again? ANy insights - including suggestions of where else I
might post this question - would be greatly appreciated.

I can only suggest you post to a group for your operating system.
As you forgot to mention what OS you are using, I cannot give you the
address of one, but choose a general group, e.g. if Win98, then use
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion

I think two things are getting confused - remembering views will only
state that the folder opens in filmstrip, list, detail view, it has no
effect on the sorting of the folder, from what I know, is by design of
the product, hard-coded into it.
