Memorising User name & Password not working

Every time I wish to download email in Outlook 2002 a
dialog comes up asking for the User name & password on
each of my 5 email accounts. The box for memorising these
items has always been checked as it has also in all my
email accounts. Very time consuming. How do I eliminate
it? Never had this problem with Windows ME and the
details in Tools/Options/Email Accounts are identical.

You should get some MVPs replying with KB articles about fixing
your Registry and stuff, but if they do not work I have at least
reduced the problem to entering these passwords only when I start
Outlook.

For each of your Mail accounts that have the problem, clear the
password and uncheck the Remember option, then exit from Outlook,
cancelling any further password prompts.
Restart Outlook, and when prompted enter your real password and
check the Remember option.

This has worked for a few days for me now.

Your suggestion doesn't help me as I open Outlook many
times a day and each time have to enter different
passwords for 5 email accounts - difficult to remember
them all and time consuming to enter them. I hope someone
can direct me to a registry KB to correct the problem if

Look in ms.pub.outlook.general, and the ms.pub.exchange.* groups,
or Google.

search business and haven't got a clue how to locate
ms.pub.outlook.general or ms.pub.exchange.*groups. Tried
a search for these items but got nothing relevant. How
