Merge from two (or more ?) Excel-data-files

Hi ! Am new to the group.

I know how to merge fields from an Excel-file into a Word-document.
Bus how can I merge fields from two Excel-files into a Word-document ?
Simple question, difficult answer ?
Can somebody help ?

Depends on how you mean it :) Are we talking about two Excel files with
the same layout, where you essentially want to run one after the other?
Or do you mean two files where one has multiple (indexed) records for
single records in the other, and you want the merge result document to
show a list of items for each single record?

Both can be done, but as you say "difficult answer".

Thanks for the reply.
The adresses for the letters to be sent are in one Excel file, and the
figures for each adress are in the other Excel file. They are both sorted on
the same key.

Hi Gilbert,

Given that both Excel files are sorted on the same key,
you should be able to use one Excel file to link to the
data in the other. Then you only need to merge on the one
file.

Are you familiar with MS Query from your work in Excel? Which version of Word
are we working with (so that I can tell you where to find the MS Query command
during mail merge)?
