Merge is saying 800 when it really 90

I have an Excel file with 90 names and address. And I've even set the print area.

Yet when I do a merge for labels or letters with Word it goes to 800. What can I do? thanks. (everything after 90 of course is just no name filler -- still quite annoying)

Setting the Print Area has nothing to do with merging to Word.

Is your "list" by any chance set up something like:

Name
Address
City
State
Zip

Rather than:

Name Address City State Zip

You *must* give a complete & accurate description in order for anyone to
have an idea what might be going on.

Thanks Bob:
Yes, my list was set up as you described.

I just tested doing it as you described (Name Address City State Zip)and
1) everything came out on the same line and was a mess
2) It still tallied up to 800 labels

I also did a form letter, and just inserted a name/company and then a Dear first name on a seperate line, and that too came to 800 letters.

I done this before in the last few weeks with no issues, so I don't get it. thanks.

Well, I gave *2* descriptions - which one fits?

Moreover, have a look here at the topic: Using Excel as a Data Source. Make
sure your list complies with all requirements.

I would guess that if you previously used the same list with success that
something has been done to change the list. As indicated in the referenced
article there must be *no content* in the row above your captions, the row
below your last record or in the columns immediately to the left & right of
your list. Your persistent lack of detailed description makes it impossible
to speculate further but I would guess that you either have collapsed rows
within your list or you have some sort of content below the last actual
record that I accounting for the extra "blank" records.

Thanks Bob, this is a new list actually, still I don't see the problem. I'd be happy to e mail it to you.
