I have a Word 2003 document that merges data from a query in an Access 2003
Query. When opened in Word is opens another Instance of the Access database
even if the Access database is already open. When you close the Word
document it asks whether you want to save the merged document and any
changes to the original document. It also closes the instance of the Access
database opened with the document.
I have created a button on a form in this Access 2003 database to open this
Word merge document and merge the data. Opening the Word merge document
still opens a second instance of the database. I can close Word from
database but it still propmts me to save the merged document and any changes
to the original document but does not close the second instance of the
database.
Is it possible to have the megered document recognize and use the currently
open instance of the database?
Can the prompts for saving the merged document and changes to the origianl
document be disabled or answered as no through programing?
The database can only be opened with a user name and password.
