Merging mail folders?

I just got a new computer and I imported mail from Eudora, which established
my personal folders. Then, I set up my account to recieve mail, but it
created a new root directory and a new inbox. Now all the new mail I get
goes to this new directory. How can I merge the two, or at least assure all
new mail goes to the main inbox?

I'm not sure what that is... could the server type be IMAP? That may be it...

In the past I have always used POP, so Im not accostomed to leaving messages

Yes, I mean IMAP before not LDAP. IMAP servers always create their own
message stores in Outlook. So, if you are using IMAP you can't merge the
message stores but can you verify that you are using IMAP

Yeah, I caught that faux pas this morning. Guess I had too many server
acronyms floating around in my head

Yes, I am using IMAP, so I guess I can't merge them. I would like to make
the IMAP inbox the default inbox, however, so that when I click on inbox
shortcuts it will go there.

You can't do that either, sadly (as far as I know).
