As was with Outlook 2000 is there a way to receive e-mail when opening
Outlook 2003 without having to click on the Send/Receive toolbar? If
so, would someone tell me how to set this up.

Go into Define Send/Receive Groups and make sure you have Outlook set to
check for new messages every XX minutes -- that setting also determines
whether or not Outlook will do a check on startup.
