A little help please.

The system requirements for Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 are unclear to me. It sounds like the availability of SQL server and Share Point serves are optional; or only needed to run specific or additional applications. I tried to install without either and it bombed. I was hoping a database engine was built in with the install.

Question: Are Share Point services and SQL server mandatory installation components (seems so).
Questiion: Is there a shareware/Freeware SQL (like MySQL) that would work. Thanks, dm
