Can I modify the Resource usage form so that it does not give me work hours
but simply provides a shaded line that mirrors the bar on the Gant chart for
the task that was assigned. I don't track overallocation. I want to use
resource usage form to show simply the tasks assigned to that individual
(resource) and the duration of each of those tasks.

What you're looking for is a Resource Gantt, not a feature in Project.
I googled for it and got some interesting hits, though I didn't look
long. There maybe a third party package that does this, but I'm not
aware of it.

Hope this helps in your world.

Hi AS,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Nor possible within Project. :( You could filter the Gantt Chart so show
only those bars with a particular resourcs assigned.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Do this:

Go to the window menu and select "split"
Click on the top window (to activate it) then go to the view menu and select
"resource sheet".
Next click on the bottom pane (to activate it) and go to view menu and
select "gantt chart".

Next highlight a resource in the top pane and the bottom pane will show a
gantt chart of all that resource's assignments.

It sounds like this is what you are looking for. If it is not, write back
and give more details.
