Migration Solution

Is there a solution? I run a windows network. Usually once a week I
backup the identities folder to the Server. I've never had a problem.
On the Mac side my friend backed up everything from an older Mac and
migrated the information over to a new Mac. To her surprise on the new
Mac the transferred materials from Outlook Express was missing. And
when she investigated her old Mac the only thing left over where
addresses from 2000 and 2001. She indicated that she thought this old
Outlook Express material was deleted ages ago. However, nothing of her
most vital addresses and so forth were in evidence. And she assured me
that nothing went into the trash during this procedure.

I've scoured her old Macs hard drive for databases, identities,
addresses and so forth. I can only locate that old material from 2000.
Let's assume nothing was trashed...what could have happened to those
current entries? In my windows world I've never encountered any issues
with copying over identities and ....exporting addresses and so forth.
Is there something I am missing? Surely on one machine there must be
evidence of her current Outlook Express material. If there is a
solution I would really want to know it. Thanks for your attentions.
